Woo! Day 30!!!

Round 6 – Day 26

April 30, 2008

Sorry about being late on this… I was in New Orleans and wasn’t able to get the comic I’d drawn up online. (i didn’t think the title panel should count for the 4 panels.)

Round 6 – Day 22

April 22, 2008

Lelah!! Where are you?! I miss your comics.

Here is mine for this day.

Yay bad puns!

Yay spring weather (for me… in the US)

Round 6 – Day 18

April 18, 2008

Keeping to just four panels is so hard for me! I always seem to gravitate towards 6 or 7 or more per page of my moleskine! So here is my one four-panel comic of the past four days.

p.s. Lelah!!!! where did you go??!

Round six – Day fourteen

April 14, 2008

Oi! Down to the wire on this one. 8 minutes past midnight!

p.s. i hope you all don’t think i’m a horrible person after this! i’m not malicious… i just have a horrible imagination.

Round Six – Day Ten

April 10, 2008

OK. so I only sort of failed this week. I managed a 4 panel comic, but not a continuation of the “Dreams of Flying and Falling.” This is due to the fact that I just have been so darn busy that the only place I can make comics is in a sketchbook and not at my drafting table. Boo! I hope to be back to DoFaF next time! For now, though, I hope you enjoy this one.

How I feel about spring

Round 6 – Day 2

April 2, 2008

I decided that I would try color for rehab, seeing as I don’t often use it.

Background: I went to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for my undergrad/grad degrees. There is a mailing list on campus called “reuse” where people will email about items that they’re giving away, free for the taking. There’s also this “reuse-dreams” mailing list, where people can subscribe and then read the dreams of everyone who writes an email about their dreams to that list. This is a dream from there, by one of my friends. When I first read it, I could almost see the images in my head, so I did my best to give my visual interpretation of his words. I think it will be about 8 or 9 pages in total, so a little longer than my time at rehab; I’m hoping I keep on the same schedule after my time anyway, but I guess we’ll get there when we get there. Aaaaanyway… a big thanks to Shervin Fatehi for letting me use his dream.

Round 6 - Day 2

Artist Introduction: L. Nichols

My name is L. Nichols, and I’m a chronic procrastinator. Always 10 minutes, 30 minutes, a day, a week, a semester, years … late. In no area of my life does this become more frustrating to me than in my comics, which is why I’ve decided that rehab is for me. I’ve been drawing since I was five, attempted my first comic in 2001, but didn’t really start drawing comics seriously until 2004. Over the past few years, I’ve managed to put a few collections of sketchbook comics together into mini comics (available on etsy) and have recently been making an effort to keep my work updated on flickr and livejournal. However, I still have days and weeks where sometimes I just don’t produce any comics. Since I’ve been wanting to work on longer-scale comics outside of my sketch books, and since I seem to be lacking in the self-discipline to work consistently on a project, I’m hoping that rehab will kick my butt into high gear with a healthy dose of deadlines.
