maybe there’s stuff that i know that others don’t that make it make sense… is it so weird that it doesn’t make any sense at all?

It makes sense. I really think it’s very funny too. But the characters are kind of strange and the robot plot is a little loco. Love it for it though.

weird? I think this is probably the most straightforward thing I have seen on this site so far.
I guess it’s weird in the sense that it’s not quite like the other things here – it’s not musingly autobiographic or abstract arty noodling. It’s a story, with some characters, and some gags. Or maybe I’m not reading nearly enough into it.

well sure, there is nothing at all wrong with either of those things, or both of them at the same time, even. I am all for a good bit of tim dankoing around, though sometimes you have to get back to the basics – some fzowing and fzapping.

i’m not sure about tim danko’s name being taken in vain here…. its beginning to feel like an out of body experience.
I think adams is just as much arty noodling as anything else here. in a neo-pulp genre?
I hate ‘art’ anyway, its a really dumb meta-tag applied to whateva, its not a genre or thing in itself.
Craft is better. Crafty noodling. Grafty craft noodling maybe.

Not sure that craft fares much better in signifying anything in particular, but does have a nicer ring to it, so Crafty Noodling it is – Kochalka be damned.

my fiance defines art as “something that has no function beyond its idea and you know, looking at it” and craft as “something with a function beyond aesthetic pleasure”. I’m not sure where comics come in that.
oh i was being dry humour about the name in vain. emoticons are no substitute for a tone of voice or a humorous glint to your eye…

ooh – a what is art conversation! yay. well, i’ll cop to arty noodling too.
your fiance’s (i thought you were already married, tim?) definition is kind of close to what mccloud was pushing in his first book. he didn’t talk about craft, though, so that’s a nice extension-cum-modification.
I suppose I do feel a bit different from those who have gone before on rehab because my drawing-fu isn’t something i’m as confident about compared to my writing-fu, whereas many of the other rehabbers have deadly hands of drawing-fu. So I’m playing to my strengths by working mainly with character and plot instead of something visual.
But having said that, it may be that EVERYONE who does rehab feels something similar. I dunno.
